Lucinda Mayo has been a quiltmaker since 1972: her work has exhibited and sold internationally. Since 1990 she has resided in Guadalajara, Jalisco, drawing inspiration from life and work in Mexico. She accepts private and public commissions, large and small, and has worked with many NGOs -- on special artisan education, as well as fundraising and other projects. Lucinda has also worked as a quilt historian and textile restorer, and as a costume- and set-designer for theater and dance.
She is also a translator from Spanish to English -- enjoying spirited and precise 'patchwork' with words as well as cloth. Lucinda is currently showing and selling works from her 'Magical Realism', 'Mexicana', 'England/Ireland/Scotland' and 'Pacific Rim' series.
